Default Strange 8830 WE problem! - 07-14-2008, 02:18 PM

Everytime I go to make a call on my phone. I go to contacts and hit send, then the screen goes black and never makes the call (its almost like it goes to sleep). Then I push any button and it comes back on and if I resend the call it works fine... Does anyone have this problem, or know what makes it randomly go black like that?

I am not an expert but maybe look over your contacts and make sure that is no ODDBALL character or dialing code symbol in the phone number field.

What happens if you just start entering a number to dial spontaneously from the home screen (if enabled)

If nothing else, this will bump your message.

Have you tried a battery pull?

If not then you may want to swap out the phone at VZW.

I have already tried a battery pull multiple times to no avail. I guess I will just have to exchange my phone. As for FF2, I do not have any of those things in the number, and when I start to type a phone number it takes me to a screen with the number I am dialing on top and my contacts list on bottom...

Default Electrical issue maybe? - 07-18-2008, 10:04 PM

I'm not a Blackberry technician but it sounds like you might have an electrical issue. It's possible that your device is shorting out when you press the call button. Again, I'm not an electrician I'm just doing some mindful troubleshooting.

Yea man just return it. Blackberry's are suppose to be reliable I'm sure VZW will gladly swap it out with a new one for you.
