Wondering how 8820 does the WI-FI / Edge Selection?

If the phone has a WI-FI access (WI-FI icon on top) does the user have to make a choice in a menu or such? (i.e "Use WI-FI instead of EDGE")

And another question, do we have to introduce a newly found WI-FI accesc to 8820? If so, where?
