Default Startup and Shutdown Images - 09-08-2009, 09:08 AM

Hi all,

After the excellent help I received here yesterday I managed to successfully update my Orange branded (but unlocked) 8820 to the lastest software release.

I assumed when I updated (as I used the software from the sticky in this forum) that the Orage branding would be removed. But, when I turn the phone on and off I get the Orange splash screen.

Just wondered if anyone knows how I can remove this? It's not a big problem, I just wondered if it could be done.

Thanks

You cannot remove it, it is hardcoded into the device.

The splash screen is not impacted by an OS upgrade. It will remain the same no matter which carrier's OS you upgrade to.

1st Step in Troubleshooting: Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.

It is possible to change those images.

But the tools you need won't be found (or discussed) here.

But it is possible. *cough* google it *cough*

You should also mention that those tools are illegally distributed.

Wirelessly posted (8800)

Good points, and I should've mentioned them.

I figured that might be obvious, since they're not available or mentioned, but I forget about different levels of experience/familiarity with these forums.

Thanks for filling in the gaps.
