Lightbulb THE SOLUTION For "Device Media Processor Is Busy" - 09-20-2009, 04:47 PM

Hello All. Just yesterday I updated my blackberry 8830, after I started to add some new songs to my media card and started to try out the voice recorder. That night I tried to play some music on my phone but when I clicked play it said "Device Media Processor Is Busy" and none of my music or ringers could place, so basically all my phone could do was vibrate. And I tried a battery pull which worked but then went back to the volumeless state. I noticed when there was no media card in my phone it worked..

This is what I did to solve this problem..
I took out my media card and I inserted it to the computer to notice when I opened the card, at the top of the list where all my music and pictures were it had the folder "BlackBerry" which was not there before the update. When you open the blackberry folder you see music, ringtones, voice notes, etc. I copied all my pictures and pasted it in the picture folder and the music in the music folder, and when i was done copying and pasting i deleted all the stuff from where it was before. So all you would see is just the "blackberry" folder instead of seeing the blackberry folder and all your stuff. I inserted the media card back into my phone and everything now works perfectly fine.

HOPE THIS HELPS !

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

This is the way it should be. Not really a fix, as you wouldn't have the problem if u did it right

Well if this was so easy to find why was there no solution for this problem all over google and other blogs.
And it was a problem because the blackberry folder wasn't even added till after the update so it couldn't have been done right because it was not known to be there.

That blackberry folder has been on all my bb's since my pearl that is why I never had this issue. Cause all my stuff was already in there from when I set it up on my pearl. When you use a memory card from another device (non bb) is when you will see all your stuff out of that folder. Your BB will still see them and play them but not correctly all the time as this issue people are having is evident of.

Ok, so here is the situation. I am also having this error, but my folder structure is as it should be. I have always had the blackberry folder and within it all the media folders(Music, pictures, ringtones etc.). I have both WMA and MP3 files on my phone and have never had a problem. Last week, I recieved a little icon on my BB asking me to upgrade the OS to the new version. Sprint confirmed this was them pushing the new update. I ran the update and since then, I have recieved this error when playing MP3 files. WMAs work with no issues. If I pull the battery and reset the blackberry, my files will play for about 30 minutes or so and then the MP3s begin to get the error again. I tried removing the MP3s and deleting the database file. This did not fix the problem.

Tonight I am planning on wiping the blackberry and then using the BB desktop manager to make sure the OS is properly updated. Unless someone has a better Idea, as nothing else seems to work.
