Default 8830 Bluetooth Issues (Call Volume & A2DP Quality) - 10-08-2009, 01:24 AM

Hi Everyone,

I have an 8830 that I have been fighting with a couple of bluetooth issues for awhile (ever since OS 4.2.2.196). I'm currently running 4.5.0.126 (company "standard" release that I'm not supposed to upgrade). I tried several of the betas and the results are the same.

In my car I have a Motorola T505 bluetooth hands-free device. I find that the call volume (even when maxed out on the blackberry) is still quite low. I've tried the device with my wife's Samsung phone and it allows significantly higher volume levels coming from the T505.

The second issue I have is when playing music from the blackberry to the T505. The higher frequency sounds are distorted. When I play the same song over wired headphones, or even wired to the car stereo, this distortion is not there. I've read about similar issues with others on the bold, etc and people seem to be pointing to the blackberry's bluetooth bit rate.

I've looked everywhere on the blackberry and there doesn't seem to be any settings to change the maximum bluetooth call volume or A2DP.

Is there any way that the bluetooth COD file can be hacked to change these settings? I'm definitely not technical enough to do this, if it's possible, would anyone be willing to give this a try?

Thanks,

Zavar
