Unhappy Procedure for wiping Blackberry 8800 clean - 10-13-2009, 08:06 PM

My Blackberry 8800 has been really acting crazy. If I try to reply to a text message when I use the track ball it automatically sends a blank reply. The trackball goes all over the screen. I dropped the setting down to 70 to see if that would help and seems as though it got worst. I think I need to wiped it clean and start all over again. If that is not the problem, then must have something to do with the trackball. I need some help... Please

have you tried a simple battery pull to see if that fixes it?

If the battery pull doesn't work, you may just need a new trackball. You can order one from BBF sponsor HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß

Wirelessly posted (Curve 8310)

The trackball could just be cruddy - if you're feeling brave you could take it apart and try to clean it but be careful - there are very small parts to lose. It doesn't sound like a software issue though. I wouldn't wipe the device at this point.
