I have owned my 8830 for over 2 years and I am afraid it has finally kicked the bucket, but I wanted to see if anyone else might have any assistance before I start looking for a new phone. My phone was working fine and then I looked at it and it was shut off. I had to take out the battery to restart it and I thought that would fix the problem , as it has before, but it did not. Instead it turns on and it allows me to move the ball around but I cannot select anything. No buttons on the the face or the sides respond. The worst part, it shuts off after about a minute (long enough for my messages folder to update) and then I have to start the process all over again. Has anyone else experienced this? If this is the end of my phone, any suggestions for a new Verizon blackberry? Thanks in advance for any help.

Is it possible your battery is dead and not the phone? What happens when you plug in the power and remove the battery....
