Default Cingular's 8800 - 11-12-2006, 11:22 AM

Will Cingular be getting the version of the 880 with a Camera or will they just have the cameraless version?

They likely will, but not at the same time. The version without the camera will likely be released first...followed by a camera version a few months later.

Nope. So far, signs point to 1st Quarter at the earliest.

that sucks cause I really can't go back to the 8700 from the form factor of the pearl and the sd card use, etc. but suretype is killing my productivity. I need the 8800 yesterday.

While you can't tell us anything...Just give me a thumbs up/thumbs down for my questions...

Should I be comfortable in my assumption that it will be out before Christmas?

Will cingular allow the internal GPS function to operate (or will they cripple it like Verizon)

Will Cingular be releasing 4.2 OS for the 8700 before the 8800 release?

I know man I had a SureType version while they sent me a replacement 8700. I wanted to end my life. But yeah I would really like a camera version of the 880 to come out soon. I miss having it since I switched from the Treo 650. But somehow I have a feeling that I am gonna end up getting the cameraless version cause well, I am impatient and eager to have a sweet Blackberry.

Am I the only one who likes suretype??

I had a 7100, and 'upgraded' to an 8700, I find I type slower on the full qwerty, and I need to use 2 hands. one-handed speed typing on the 7100 with suretype - been eyeing the pearl so I can return to the suretype camp-

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Coreyg, can you atleast say if Cingular will be getting both the Indigo AND the Crimson? Because that's the one that I really want. I would rather just have the Cingular version than getting a T-Mobile Crimson and having to unlock it to use for Cingular.

No, but you're in the minority.
