Default The LATEST BlackBerry 8800 release sked, features - 12-07-2006, 08:58 PM

According to BBHub.com T-Mobile will introduce the new Blackberry 8800 next year. It will boast a wi-fi capability.
"There 2 versions of the 8800. The first one will be launched without a camera approximately the middle-end of Jan 2007.
The second version will be launched with a camera approximately mid-end of April 2007.
Both will be Wi-Fi equipped.
When compared side by side to an 8700 model, it is approximately 2/3 the width depth of an 8700 and approx 1/4+/- inches longer.
The T-Mobile version will be black (as compared to the Pearl). This is verified for the 8800 without a camera...No final concrete design on the camera version as of yet, but 80% chance it will look exactly the same"

Great intel and find; probably should be moved to the General 8800 Series Discussion forum.

Very easily.

I have had no issues playing BrickBreaker on my 8100. I love the trackball! I thought I'd miss the trackwheel but I don't.

Anyone can upgrade! The upgrade cost full list price if you have had your 8100 for two years.

I hope they do NOT give T-Mo an exclusive on the 8800. Hope that both Cingular AND T-Mo release it in January

Camera isn't a big deal to me, but in the week or so that I had a Dash while my 8700 was down, I did like it, I may end up waiting for that one....

Is Cingular getting the camera too or just T-Mo? I finally get an upgrade in May from my 8700c, so I am looking foward to a camera 8800. I love the 8100 but Sure Type for me is unacceptable.

Or a year after the 8103e comes out. That could work. Or a year after that, too. But it will be before Sprint.

When it comes to BlackBerry, Verizon and Sprint always get them a year later. I think that has a lot to do with the smaller footprint of users.. Anyone know why? I'm a Cingular customer and all my Verizon clients cry until they switch to Cingular...

not necessarily. if you remember the 8700 release, Rogers customers were first to receive. maybe we'll have the same luck with the 8800.

I think he was pointing out that CDMA devices from RIM tend to follow their GSM counterparts by about a year.

Nope, Rogers will have the 8800 after it's launched in the US. Near the end of Q1 is what I'm being told.

Uh, the carriers are in this to make money. Why would they offer price breaks on what will become one of the best selling Blackberrys in history!

From a marketplace perspective, RIM should be incenting the carriers with all they can to stiff-arm competition. RIM's competition is not sitting idle.

The buttons on it look horrible. I'm sure it's going to be hard plastic.

I hope RIM knows that the best buttons were on the 72xx & 75xx series BlackBerry Devices.

If it was me, I would of made different buttons.
