vincentnyc: you need to contact your Cingular Account Rep and ask them for an invite to the event. Thats how everyone on the board that is going was invited.

The CSR's on the 800 # arent going to be able to do anything for you. You need your corporate account manager to make some phone calls to get you the invite.

Vince,

Most corporation that have more than X amount of accounts have dedicated cingular representatives. These are people who work with the company directly to negotiate contract terms and prices. My company for example has a procurement base of around 20,000 people. It is the procurement individuals in my company and selected others (those of us who know who our reps are), that have contacted our reps and gotten invites. Also, the cingular rep can not extend an invite to you, they have to contact RIM and RIM extends the invite. At this point if you're the IT guy in charge of BB procurement and you don't have a cingular rep, not sure you will be able to find one. Also, if you haven't gotten an invite by now...three hrs to the event, you're probably not going to get one. Sorry man...

Obs

Vince,

got your PM but a little too late to help you out. . . if you take care of all your company's BB, then you should be taken care of your Cingular Account Rep.... try again in about 15 months . . . in the meantime, start finding out who's holding the strings . . . you can either suck-up or make a stink about it . .. .

thx for everyone telling me to speak to an account rep for cingular.

but the problem is i dont believe we any account manager with cingular...in the past...whenever we need to purchase a blackberry..i just call cingular up and purchase the blackberry with any cingular CSR...that's basically it...plus we dont have that much account with cingular....only like 4..maybe 5 this year. but we did purchase all new blackberry from cingular last year...(3) 8700 and (1) 7130.

so what are my chances getting an invite in the future? or who do i need to speak with in cingular for getting invites for future events? thx in advance.

ps - we also have 2 blackberry account with tmobile.

phone bills avg. about $1,000/month

We have 40,000 Blackberry's so i think that accounts for something. It is basically a marketing tool, so if they feel they won't make a lot of money, it is less likely. Just my 2cents
