the only features I added were the bes, and switched some feature from my old number over. The only part of the story that was left out was the reason I was there to buy the 8800, that being the 8525 that I had (my third since december) was on the fritz again, and I was finally fed up with it. I asked if I could just trade it for a different model, the sa said no that I would have to pay full retail. I was reluctant, but said okay and asked if I could change my number at the same time. That process took two hours (yes, two hours- 2:45-4:49 p.m.), and that's when the relevant part of this story took place.

Sorry, I didn't want to clutter the thread with the irrelevant part. The people at the store knew me and my problems with each 8525 I had brought back, and the incovenience each time had caused. These events however mean nothing to what the point of my post was, that in a corp. store you can ask to price match a national retailer for their advertised price, and luckily on that day I got it for amazon's price.

Placed my order via the renewal! Can't go wrong with $125 (less $50 cingy rebate and less $25 Amazon rebate).... but this is Amazon and cell phone... Says deliver (free) is next week. I can use this during the week and my Pearl on the weekend...

Does anyone know for a new service ordering through Amazon whether I can do the following:
- Add my corporate discount to the service?
- Upgrade the plan to family plan later on or to a higher plan?

Amazon's site wants me to pick a new voice plan even though I selected I'm an existing customer. Can I not replace an existing line with this?

It is allowing you to pick a plan for this new phone. I remember reading a warning about dropping another data plan if it is not BB data or you will still get charged for that data plan in addition to the BB data plan you choose. I just chose the plans I already had so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, BUT with Cingular I am somewhat skeptical that this is seemless.

I'm pretty sure you can't add a corp discount to the phone price. If you are just talking about a discount on the actual monthly service, Amazon does ask during the process who you work for, so I assume this might get added. If it doesn't then after you get the phone a quick 32 minute call (20 min on hold, 2 minutes to explain, 10 min of "my system is really slow, please bear with me") and voila! it will be fixed.

You can always upgrade you current plan to a family plan I believe. You just can't do it on Amazon at this price. Will have to call Cingular (see above) to make that happen (or go to a Cingular branded store).
