IMHO the plastic clips are inferior to the leather. Those of us with a small spare tire find the phone popping out all the time. Plus, the leather is just more metrosexual!!

I used to love the plastic holder that came with the 8700 also, until I read all the horror stories about devices flying out, down the steps, etc. Many a 8700 met thier demise due to that thing, hence the nick name launcher. Something like that for my 8800, NEVER. But something along the lines of the plastic case that Seidio made for the 8100, maybe.

Politicians are a lot like diapers and they should be changed often and for the very same reason.

Yes the 8700 holster was badly made. I went through 3 of them in a one year period as the clips broke. But toward the end of the 8700's life, they released a newer holster that was supposedly better. My friend got one and was happy with it.

Holster is definitely the way to go as it lets you grip the phone with 4 fingers and slide it out instead of freaking grabbing it by the side with 2 fingers and being all awkward when putting it back.

We are definitely in the process of making a holster for the 8800. We'll keep you posted!

Thanks

Unless she's reading "Peace Not Apartheid," in which case she would truly be a moron.

Personally, I never liked the plastic belt clip that came with the 8700 - the device would pop-out and fly. The Seidio 8100 holster/clip looks promising if (and when) it is available for the 8800. In the meantime, I don't mind the OEM leather holster.
bollar: sorry, but I am going to keep mine as a backup

well at the end of the day the rubber skin and matching plastic belt clip (with spring top) from Seidio that I had for my 8700 was great. durable and sturdy. I am a bouncer in Boston and I used to put my BB in my pocket until i got this clip. In short, I want the same for my lovely 8800...can a brother get some love!? show me the love!

on a side note, thanks to all the mods and others who post so much. i've owned a blackberry for a few years now, but never needed to post because the search button works so well. thanks for all the good info.

I'm all thumbs!
