Default 2 x gold oval things next to the voice dial ?? - 02-25-2007, 07:40 AM

hi
what are the 2 x gold coloured oval inserts in the left hand side of the 8800, next to the voice dial button? cant find out whats its for.

Go to Options --> Voice Dialing and check your settings. Something there may be set to 2!

Are you asking about the metal tabs like the Pearl has on the back of it? If so, they are for use in a cradle to charge the battery w/o plugging a charger into the USB port.

Yep, for a charging cradle that RIM has not introduced yet.

Not even a hint of it being on the horizon, but it will sooner or later as the 8800 is the beginning of a long list of devices with the same form factor. Hopefully we will be able to use the same accessories for the next few devices!

Not really bizarre. Accessories are lagging behind the device introductions alot of times. There are many 88xx series to come, I have a feeling that we will see lots of OEM and 3rd party stuff for the 88xx series
