I'm not sure how you'd find them as they're all sold via the carriers.

The only unbranded handhelds are beta products. You won't find them for sale, except through some random third party. And as they won't be production models, it's not recommended.

You can also buy a branded model and apply sandpaper and vigorous action... then you'll have a completely unique device!

RIM sold unbranded 8700 models, so I imagine they will do so again with the 8800. They were expensive and they were not immediately available though.

Maybe I am just spitballing here but maybe BabaBerry doesn’t want to see any logos on his 8800 after dropping a few hundred on one?

I'm sure unbranded versions will be available at some point, but for now only the carriers sell them. I believe it will be a case of supply and demand. When the demand at the carriers peters out then we'll start seeing the non-branded 8800 available in boutiques and local shops.

You wont be able to buy a unbranded 8800, only way is if you Work at Rim, other then that you wont be able to get a unbranded device.
