I disagree. Unless you have t-support and can call RIM, who is going to service the device?

The carrier you bought it from won't care because you are not on their network and Rogers won't care because it's not one of their device.

RIM Warranties the device. As far as I know, when your BB goes down, you contact RIM, they do troubleshooting with you, and if they can't get it up and running, they send you a new one within like 5 days (usually 3). Then when you recieve it, you ship your device back to them.

I have used a few unlocked BlackBerry devices on Rogers Wireless and they work fine. You will be able to send and receive emails/pins as well as surf the web. Why would someone tell you that you need to pay $200.00 to relock a device for the internet to work? That's just absurd.

No problems whatsoever. Everything works fine

Nooo, you can have a phone unlocked for measly $20-30 CDN via eBay. Anything more than $50 is crazy!!

Bought Cingular unlocked 7290 - worked great on Rogers Wireless (2 or 3 years ago).

Just recently bought Cingular unlocked 8800, and I know it will work great on Rogers. Can't wait to get it in couple of days! Whoo!

^$25

GSM PhoneSource - When Only The Best Will Do it's all done online remotely. Give him your IMEI, he emails you back with a code. You enter it and voila, you're done. There are people a bit cheaper, but Adam's been doing it the longest and thousands trust / know him!

It varies, depending on Adam's schedule. One time (unlocking a Moto) I had to wait about 3 days for a response because he was out of town. He will get back to you as soon as he is able, and he does very good work.

++++++++++++
I purchased 2 Cingular 8800's used the unlock service from GSMphonesoure & everthing went well. I have also purchased unlocked phones from them.

I sent the 2 unlocked 8800's to family members in Canada & all they had to do was install their sim cards and the 8800's work perfectly.

They are a great company to do business with. I do NOT work for them, just a very satisfied customer.

Cheers...)
