In spite of searching through the forum, I can't seem to find how to tab back and forth through text when writing a message. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me how to do it?

Not sure what you mean to "tab back and forth", but to move your cursor right to left through text, hold down the ALT key while scrolling to move sideways. Is that what you mean?
Sorry, my post wasn't very clear. This was something I could do on my Treo by holding down the alt key and using the d-pad. On the 8800 I can scroll one character at a time using the track ball. What I'm trying to do is scroll through whole words in either direction.
