I can receive text messages from other carriers, but not MMS. If I send and MMS to myself I receive it. When I try and send a MMS from my verizon phone to my cingular 8800 it never comes through. Any suggestions?

I think there is a setting in Options / MMS (or some place) to receive MMS from other carriers. It is a check box....

The only problem I have is that other carriers take forever to receive their MMS messages

BlackBerry Evolution
BB 8700C > BB Pearl > > BB 8800

Once you go BlackBerry! !
AT&T Wireless > Cingular > AT&T??

you would probably have to reach out to Tech Support for the carrier where the messages are not going through. I know that you can send inter-carrier messages, but when it comes to receiving them, you are better off reaching out to the carrier or origin then the carrier where it is suppose to stop. Can you send it the other way?? (i.e., Cingular 8800 to verizon phone?)

Do the reverse. As simple as it sounds, its mostly to work (Cingular to Verizon MMS). If it does work have Verizon check for MMS Terminating not just originating on the switch (I'm not sure how they call this in the CDMA world of tech support hopefully their understand). No check for inter provider/carrier country MMS terminating originating ... and also the minute setting of roaming. Is your Verizon device roaming even if briefly?!

Looking for that perfect signature, hmm.

Did you port your number in from Verizon to Cingular? If you did I'd guess you still have an entry in their own MMS Subscriber database and they are delivering the push directly to you, believing you're still their Sub, instead of passing the entire MMS to Cingular for them to deliver.

cheers

Do you have MMS on your Subscription?
Can you receive from yourself?
What file types is your wife sending (try with a simple photo, text only etc)?
Is the same MMS delivered to another device type on the same network?

If you are subscribed then likely that your networks content adaption can't convert the files your wife's submitting into a format the bb can handle. Perform the tests above and then report to your network if others can receive and self test is good, possible their Content Adaption table needs updating.

cheers

I have BES on the 8800, and she has a plan that allows text messaging, with photos... but i'll try the test to have her send to herself, and then send to antoher motorola, etc. thanks for the suggestions.
