Default Issues with icons??? - 04-22-2007, 02:36 PM

This is weird. Starting Saturday April 21st all the email I receive has a folder icon next to it instead of an envelope icon. As far as I know I didn’t change any settings nor could I find any settings to change.

While my device still works I am annoyed because I do not know why this happened

Try a reset (pull the battery) also double check your themes. One thing that I do IF things go weird is to set the theme to another theme and than change it back. This usually fixes many of the simple odd icon things that I see.

One other thing that I saw was I was able to get an 8100 theme to work on my phone…but it ended up crashing it…lesson learned: we have to wait until there are some custom themes for the 8800.

thanks for the reply.

i actually figured out what issue was and solution

issue was that all my email was being automatically filed hence the folder icon. this also means i could not delete email as well.

the BES server i am on probably overrode these settings. I followed the following steps to resolve the issue.

In email option set the HIDE filed email to yes then did battery pull reset.
then all icons were returned to envelopes instead of folders however new email was still arriving filed.

I then cycled wireless reconciliation to off then back on.

problem solved.

blackberry is not as rock solid as the fanboys would have you believe T_T
