I now have my 3rd 8800 (returned to store to exchange due to issues) and they all power cycle randomly. I could recreate it on one of the phones I had. I cannot recreate it on this one. Sometimes when I put it in the holster it resets. Sometimes when I lay it down on the desk it resets. Can anyone help with this? I am frustrated enough that I might exchange it for an 8700. That would pain me but if it works better....

Sounds like loose battery contacts.
