Default 8820 Info Spotted - 04-28-2007, 08:59 AM

On BGR there is a little thing comparing the 8800 and the 8830. On the back of this it mentions that the 8820 will have WiFi and be released, Q3 2007.

yeah i saw that too, I also found the differences between the 8800 & 8830's to be a surprise. If thats all true, the world phones sacrifice a little performance & the GPS for the global frequencies?

Wirelessly posted (Ooga Booga 8700: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

That's what it looks like. I am hoping that because the 8820 has WiFi and GPS that a phone from the 8300 series will have the same and this gave me a little hope. But the 8800 seems to own the 8830 in terms of performance, but hey at least VZW and Sprint are getting the 8800.

Keep in mind that it is most likely a different processor than the Intel chip in the 8800. Most likely it's the ARM 9 that's in the 8703e which I believe clocks slower.

Where does it indicate that the 8820 has GPS?

you right it doesnt give any specs on the 8820 other than it will have wifi, so guess the rumors will begin about that one.

Wow, sorry totally read BGR's post wrong.

Sorry, didn't mean to start rumors and speculation.
Shouldn't post at 10:20 in the morning while still in bed.

According to the Sprint Announcement http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ouncement.html
The 8830 Worldphone will have GPS

Just because it's possible...that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

yeah, i think both 8830's will have GPS. AT&T must have gotten that wrong in their "research" on the competitors models.

It will probably have it, but Verizon will probably cripple it as usual.

That's my bet given what they did to the 8703e.
