Smile New Bb 8800 Question - 05-05-2007, 07:47 PM

hello all. This is my first post. I recently purchased a BB 8800 from ebay. I would like to simply remove my sim card from my current BB (8700c). My company uses Cingular. My question....Is it just as simple as taking my current SIM and placing it in the new BB 8800? The 8800 is unlocked fo Cingular. Or will I have to deal with my cantakerous and generally unhelpful MIS dept? Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Wirelessly posted (9900: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If you have the latest desktop manager 4.2 use the switch device wizard abd you should be good to go.

I'm not sure if the Switch Device Wizard will handle the Enterprise Activation for you but you do need to go through Enterprise Activation one way or the other. In general, you can request an activation password from your BES admin or sync via USB to activate.

My 8800 trackball died, so I am getting a replacment. I plan on using the switch device wizard via USB. Will this activate the new phone on my coporate BES?
