Exclamation BB 8800 problem with browser - 05-06-2007, 03:59 AM

Hi,
I'm beginner with BlackBerry so maybe my question is stupid
I have BB 8800 v4.2.1.74(Platform 2.3.0.54). In my device doesn't function browser (msg> Your Device does not currently have any Browser Configuration Service Book Entries.) but my old device BB 8700g already function. My question is: How re-install BB OS on my device or something other how enable browser or more likely Service Book Entries.

Sorry for my English

Thank you for help

Stepan

You may not need to go that far. Have you downloaded the Service Books from your provider's BIS site?

Links for all North American provider's BIS sites can be found at the bottom of this page:

I am not sure I completely understand the question, but I think that service books are a critical componet for BES sync.

Thanks, Mark

Correct. If you have BES and are missing service books, have your BES Admin resend them.

Okay this subject caught my eye, I'm not new to BBs but still, don't know all that much. Just bought the Rogers 8800 two days ago (was hoping to wait for the 8300 to compare vs 8800 but my 8700 gave up the ghost, couldn't wait, that's another story). I'm on a hosted BES, everything is working fine (email/calendar etc synch), GPS and the rest, but the browser just sits there with "Requesting..." for any site I try and go to.

Does this fall into resending service books, or am I missing something more obvious?? All feedback appreciated!

Cheers, Sean

Default problem - 05-08-2007, 09:05 PM

I'm having the same problem as the original poster. I logged in and downloaded the service books. Now I at least have the browser icon, but it's still telling me I don't have any brower configuration service book entries.

Suggestions?

I got the device the day before yesterday and I'm very upset paying all this money for the device and the service and not having any internet or e mail.

Yup. Did everything suggested here and in the FAQ. I just realized that I also don't have Media Net... if that matters.

Call Cingular as there is an obvious problem on your account as you have tried everything there is to try... Sorry, but it warrants a call at this point.... Could be a provisioning issue on their end....
