Default Anyone get an email from Sprint on the 8830 yet? - 05-18-2007, 02:44 PM

On Sprint's 8830 announcement page, (Introducing the BlackBerry 8830) there's a dialog box where you can enter your contact info to get on a waiting list (or something like that). Has anyone heard back from Sprint on this yet? I know July's a few months off still, but I'm just curious.

I doubt you will hear from them for some time, maybe not even until launch day, I am on verizon and we have the same set up for our 8830 and I still haven't gotten an email about Verizon's 8830 and it is already out for business customers and will be out for the general public on the 28th.

We've had a demo unit for a couple of weeks now. Corp accounts can request a demo but I'm sure availability is limited. Not sure about consumer purchases, I would imagine the retail release is later than the B2B release, just like VZW.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.7196/1662; en; U; ssr))

I take my previous response back, just about 5 minutes after I posted that I haven't received email notification from verizon, I check my Blackberry and there from verizon is a "learn more/introduction" email about the new 8830. Lol

Good to know. I'll be purchasing through my corp. rep., so hopefully things will go smoothly (as smoothly as they can go for Sprint!). BTW, how's the demo unit working out for you? Any user insights for those of us who have to wait unitl July?

Same color, look & feel as Cingular's 8800 except CDMA. I'm told the device is unlocked for various SIM card usage and GPS is enabled but I haven't been able to hold on to the device long enough to confirm this. It is currently crossing the pond for testing in Europe. When it returns, I'll have more details.

I have not gotten any emails yet, eagerly anticipating the release...
