Default remove links from recieved emails - 05-24-2007, 12:17 PM

Hello all,
I searched the forums to no avail. Does anyone know of a way to hide all of the link paths in recieved emails. Thank you ahead of time.

You want to hide links in a received email on your BB? Not an email to which you are replying, but just an email you have received and it is sitting on your BB?

If I didn't know any better it would be to clean up those darned HTML emails that come in with all that gunk of links all over the place. A good idea! ONLY if there's a good solution.

If that is the question, then no... there isn't a way. Your BB will only display text email, not the HTML. The HTML gets converted to text, hence all the junk.

Yes that is correct. I would rather not go through all of the link paths. To be more specific if I were to get an alert email from google it would contain text and path information. I would want the paths removed so it would be easier to read

Can you set the Google alerts to send Text only ?

For instance, I can do that with my flight notifications, weather alerts, etc. I don't use the google alerts so i don't know about it specifically.

Yes alerts can be sent Txt only. Thank you for that one. Maybe in the future the links could be shown not as the full link but maybe as a single character. Or maybe an option to strip off the formating as woodi68 may be suggesting
