Default Probably obscure but confounding typing problem - 05-25-2007, 01:57 PM

When typing email messages to a couple of military friends on my Blackberry 8800, every time I type "LT" as in "Lt Jones," and "Lt Smith," abbreviation for Lieutenant, the current time is displayed on the message. No matter what I do, typing "LT" or "lt" or "Lt." yields the same result. It's just annoying to me.

Go to Options, Auto Text, and scroll through the list or type an 'L' and you will see the entry for "lt". Highlight over it, and click menu to delete. Save and you won't have the problem again.

Auto text can be a pain sometimes but if used correctly can save lots of time on your keyboard. ANY words you type often can be put into autotext and speed things up.

^^ditto^^ I use it all the time to save typing. Like you could reset "Lt" to spell out "Lieutenant" instead of the current time.

Also, if you don't want to delete the "lt"=local time in the autotext then when it spells out the time just backspace and it will change back to "lt."
