Unhappy bbmaps - no gps source - 05-26-2007, 11:59 AM

I have a verizon 8830. In the bbmaps options, there are no GPS sources available; the only option is NONE.

In Advanced Options: GPS, I have GPS Data Source set to Device GPS, and GPS Services set to Location.

I have also tried Google maps, and every time I get Location Signal too Weak To Pinpoint, even though my signal strength (1XEV) is 4/5 bars.

What am I missing?

Verizon has not opened up the APIs for the application to use the internal GPS feature. You will need to get a puck.

Get a puck or switch to Sprint in July after they come out with the 8830.
