Does anyone know how to get the google icon on the 8830 home page.

Check out Google Mobile to see if anything there suits your fancy, or if you're only looking for Google Maps, simply go to Google Maps - just make sure you're aware that the standalone Google Maps application is more up-to-date than the one that comes with the Google Mobile packaged apps.

I also read something about the install order of these two applications. Meaning Google Mobile doesn't like Google Maps, so there's a particular order to install them so they both install properly. (I just read it yesterday, but don't recall where or when the post was made, though I suspect it was recently)

Im just trying to make it a little easier to search with a home page icon vs. going into bookmarks then to google. thanks

I didn't have any problems installing all 4 apps to my device at the same time. It's all part of the "services" pack that google installs. It includes, News, Mail, Maps and Search. Worked fine on my 8830.

Click Menu in the Browser>>Options>>Browser Configuration>>Scroll to bottom of the screen and change home page address
