Have you tried the Roxio Media Manager included in Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2?

Came with my 8830. I just used it the other night to convert a short video to see what it looked like on my 8830. Worked perfect.

Yes, it most certainly does.
Roxio Media Manager is included with Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 (which is why it's a 250MB download).
It's also included on the CD that comes with the 8830.

I suggest you search the forums before pretending you know it all. There are lots of threads about the new Roxio included in DM. There is even a sticky or two. The rest probably got pushed down by all the threads about the 8300.

My apologies to the boards, when i got this 8830 on monday and downloaded the update(4.2.266) for it from the vzw website, just got off the phone with rim and even though the version i had was a 4.2 it was not the version with roxio,so wheather there's an issue with vzw's download or not again my apologies.

Roxio is in the Desktop Manager, not the device software. Install the Desktop Manager that came on the cd you got with the 8830. Then open Desktop Manager and click on Media manager. A whole new world will open up! It should be version 4.2.2.14 (I think) and if it's not on your CD then download it from the RIM site. Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2.

Is the Roxio software included in the PocketMac suite on the 8830 CD as well?

No. Roxio Media Manager is for Windows only.

Anyone have an idea then? I downloaded the Aqua211 software for encoding videos for the 8100 on my Mac...encoded some videos, and my 8830 says it is an unsupported format. Please help.
