One way is to remove the battery.

You can also go ALT-Righ Shift-DEL.

u could use the search feature or...

Soft reset (not destructive) is done by either popping the battery out, or by pressing the ALT/CAP/DEL keys on the kayboard.

Hard reset (destructive) are done one of two ways:

- Options / Security / General - click the menu key and select Wipe Handheld. This will only erase customer data and NOT programs or the OS

- Search for and use JL_CMDER; it contains a program called Javaloader which can completely wipe out a BB; data, apps and the OS.

Does hard reset take it back to when it was new from the store?

You need to wipe it out using JL_CMDER and then re-install the handheld OS. Please check out Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ for details.
