Default 8830 - color coded SMS and email messages! - 06-11-2007, 06:08 PM

How on EARTH did I turn this feature on??? Unbelievable. Every message has diagonal stripes on it making it very hard to read or compose a text message or an email message.

how do I turn this off?

Thanks !

This is a feature only available to those 8830's that are connected to an Enterprise Server to receive email messages.

You goto Options>Security Options> General Settings - there you can turn off or on colored message feature to distinguish between work emails or personal emails, and SMS, etc.

Thanks

I actually use the yellow for my BES work email. That way I know when I'm sending from the right address. The yellow isn't too intrusive.

wow - thanks dkowal/John Clark - I was unfamiliar with this feature. I've definitely sent emails from the wrong address before and it just gets confusing. Thanks for the help!

Yellow? Wow, I've got to give that color a try. The darker color settings were just too ugly for me and non-functional.

Glad I could be of assistance in pointing this out.

Cheers.

Default thanks for posting this question / solution . . . - 11-11-2007, 04:37 PM

I had the same problem. somehow I set this in my options for the color blue, then found the annoying dark diagonal lines polluting my e-mails and my sms messages. Then I could not remember how I had managed to do this to myself.

So thank you for posting this - you saved me hours of potential aggravation.

Haha, I enabled this feature which I thought would just color code the message text but instead I got the diagonal lines which I thought were so ugly. I then decided I could just live without knowing where my email came from.

Is there a way to make them show different font colors in the Messages inbox?
