Default from 8830 back to 8703 - 06-18-2007, 08:03 PM

I did the 30 day test drive on the 8830. I just decided against the 8830 and went back to my 8703 w/extended seidio battery. Definitely some nice new features, but I LOVE my tried and true 8703 and my big battery. Most of all though, I welcome back my keyboard. I'd gotten used to the 8830 keyboard, but after a month I'd forgotten what my 8703 keyboard was like. I LOVE IT! I'll give the curve a try when vzw gets it, but not until an extended battery & door are already available.

just my $.02

Also, meant to ask, anyone else have the phone lock up if you're making a call right as one comes in? Have to take out battery or reset to use phone again?

What does the 8703 offer over the 8830 or vice versa. I may be forced to go back as well. What would I be missing if I did?

THanks,
JJ

Supposedly thats a blackberry issue, all of them have it.

It happens to me almost once a week, I am learning slowly to not call people back instantly after they call me or if I accidently hang up on them.

I've actually had mine stop receiving data before until I turned off and turned back on the antenna. REALLY annoying when you're an email addict. No call issues though (yet).

I really do love my 8830 though, keeping in mind that I'm coming from the 7130e! Keyboard might not be spacious, but there's a key for each letter! (Yes, I did actully get used to and liked SureType)

JJ, lot's of little things nice about the 8830, but I found a bunch of little bugs. The main reasons I went back:
AWESOME keyboard on 8830
AMAZING extended battery from seidio
and overall, just a more stable phone.

I did like the trackball. I found it's easier to press than the scrollwheel because your hand is always behind the phone to push against, but your hand isn't always on the opposite side of the phone from the scrollwheel when you need to press it in, making it awkward sometimes. So, that's the only thing I found myself missing at all. Otherwise, I'm thinking I'm with this phone until there's a vzw curve available with an extended battery.

Thanks for your point of view. This is my first BB. I really like my 8830 so far though!

Do you use your new BB for anything besides phone calls?
