Exclamation v4.2.1.139 ClassCastException Errors - 06-20-2007, 09:57 AM

Hi,

I recently upgraded my 8800 to v4.2.1.139. Since that upgrade my BB will now occassionally give me a ''ClassCastException" errors and a process will shutdown. Sometimes it's a critical process cauing more issues and the need to reset. Other times it's a lesser process like the one that translates a phone number into a person's name from the address book when they call.

I've also had my BB give me error 523 and a prompt to 'reset' my unit seemingly out of nowhere (like during the middle of a call). The call stayed up, but the screen was white with this message.

I'm running very little in the way of 3rd party apps. Opera, Viigo, and TeleNav 5.1 mainly. When I have problems these apps are not running.

Is anyone else having similar issues? Is anyone else running this version? I've reinstalled the software to my unit twice and the same problems happen. I experience about 1 or 2 of these errors a day. I would love to go back to my old version of software if someone can tell me where to find it on the net. That would be the best course of action for me. Thanks for any assistance.

Go to this thread and follow the links to your provider's OS download.

Thanks, but I know where my provider's OS download is. That's how I got into this situation. If you could tell me where previous versions are or a resolution for this problem I would be grateful.

Why don't you try the Rogers release and see if that fixes your issues?
