Default Yahoo emails coming in blank - 06-25-2007, 04:09 PM

So, my wife is in Ireland with her work. She has been sending me e-mails to my [email address] address from her Yahoo account. I am getting blank emails! I get the header and all the delivery information but nothing else. It worked for one message when she replied to a test email I sent but now I get nothing from Yahoo. Any ideas or tips? Do my email settings have to be configured a certain way? I already sent the service books thing to no avail. Thanks in advance!

She's probably sending the messages in HTML format, which cannot be read on the BlackBerry.

You should have her send the messages in plain text format, rather than HTML.

This is starting to happen to emails sent through GMail too. The stuff they quoted is in the email, but their actual response is not.

Any one else notice this?

I have some similar issues with Yahoo mail. It only happens when they are replying to an email that I sent them.

I am not having the problem yet. It does remind me of a RIM problem last year, where we see the headers but not see the body of the message in our device. Pardon me, if I did not read the issue correctly, but is the message showing from a desktop?

Hate to reply with a "me too, me too!" but as of this afternoon, the same thing just started happening to me with gmails sent to my yahoo account, in reply to emails I've sent. They appear just fine on the desktop. Argh!

Okay, good to know that I'm not the only Gmail user suffering from this problem.

This began happening to me just this afternoon (Yahoo mail), and has not happened to me before. The emails were fine when viewing them from a desktop PC. They were not formatted any differently than emails I've received successfully in the past on my BB.

My Gmail is doing the same thing currently. Must be a Verizon thing!

No, not just Verizon. My (Cingular) set-up is doing this too with GMail.

Me too

Seems like there should be an easier solution than telling my friends what kind of email format they need to use

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

There is an html email viewer for blackberry's. I found it on blackberry cool. Its from empower. I like it because it intergrates with your inbox, but its really slow. Give it a try maybe it will help. You can actually toggle between html and plain text.

When my fiancée, using Gmail from her desktop, replies to a message I sent using Gmail, either from my desktop OR from my BlackBerry, whatever I wrote in my original message is displayed, but what she writes is not. When she replies from her BlackBerry, the message DOES show up on my BlackBerry.

When she sends me an original message from her desktop or BlackBerry, the message DOES show up on my BlackBerry.

This just started yesterday, after three weeks of perfectly fine email correspondence.

I have Verizon, btw.
