Default Saving attachments to device or micro sd card on 8800? - 06-26-2007, 09:47 AM

Hey all, is there any way to save email attachments (MS Exch/BES) to either the device or the micro SD card? I have a user that has an 8800 and he's in Africa where he cannot get internet access. He's able to get bberry data so he wants to save attachments (primarily pdf's) to the micro SD card and transfer them to his laptop so he can work on them. is there any way to do that? Also is there a pdf viewer size limit on the 8800? it seems that any pdf largert than about 400kb can't be viewed well on the unit.

help!

TIA!

I don't think there is a way. You can use the 8800 and micro sd card as a mass storage device and store docs using a computer. Of course you would need the pc to view those docs stored on the micro sd card.

How about setting up his bb to access the internet on his pc as a modem?

you mean the tethered modem feature? I looked into that but there is an extra charge in the monthly plan for that through our carrier (cingular).

Also, I guess this is what you meant but I can't view those docs/data stored on the SD card in mass mode from the device itself.

Nope, you can't view them from the device itself but you can attach them to an email and send them to yourself and view them that way. That's what I do in a pinch.

Thanks! I guess that'll have to do.
