I have an 8830(VZW). Is there an option I can chose where voice mail does not require a password to retrieve voice mails?

No, there isn't, but under Phone Options, and Voice Mail settings, you can store your password in there so you don't have to enter it every time you check your voice mail.

Or you can program the speed dial number with your password.

You can add PAUSE into program tele numbers.
For example:
123-456-7890 <---YOU TELEphone NUMBER
0000 <--- Your password
P <---- Pause
1 <---- Listen to your voicemail

program speed dial 1
1234567890 P0000 P1

I forgot what the shortcut for pause is on top of me head. ANyone?

Try this:

From the phone list press
menu>
select Voice Mail>
type *86 for your voicemail access number>
XXXX for your password>
press trackball to save

It works for me

For voicemail you don't even have to do that.
