Question Why does downloading Desktop software take so long? - 07-29-2007, 06:42 AM

I asked this question before on the forum and I am asking it again. Why, when you try to download the Blackberry Desktop software from the RIM website, that it takes sooooo long to download. It always, no matter where I have been, and what type of connection I am on, downloads at around 50 something kb/s.

Is there an alternative site to download this from?

You could try downloading from you carrier's web site and see if it makes a difference.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

If I could put a positive spin, the downloads are not that often.

The symptoms are the clue. What's the one thing common to every situation you've mentioned? RIM's servers/connection are the limiting factor.
