Once encoded, how does one get the file to BB or media card?

What I do is open Desktop Manager and then go to Media Manager to transfer the files over to the media card.

don't know if encoded or not makes a difference but it's easier for me to copy and paste any of my media to the card itself via My Computer and selecting the media card when the BB is connected.
