Default LED Indicator (wont flash red) - 08-17-2007, 01:29 PM

I cannot get my flashing indicator to flash red when I have a message or missed call. It flashes green at all times as it should....it used to when I first got it, but not sure why it has stopped when I have messages.

Thanks
Thief

You need to see which Profile you have activated. Then scroll to advanced and highlight that profile Menu>Edit the profile select the messages that do not cause it to flash and press enter. Repeat Notification should be set to "LED Flashing".

What setting is this? We need to make sure it is the correct one, and for the correct account. Make sure it is Profiles > Advanced > Active Profile > Edit > Messages (appropriate account) > Repeat Notification. Make sure it is set to LED Flashing.

The LED will only flash for a certain amount of time if you don't look at the message, at which point it will stop. I don't know the exact amount of time, though, but I think it is only a couple of minutes. There isn't a way that I know of to keep it blinking.

Try creating a new profile, as well as turning off the Green Coverage LED temporarily. Also, how many e-mail accounts do you have configured on the BlackBerry? Are all the Message accounts in the profile set to have the LED Flashing?

This time when I was left a message I noticed that it does flash red when I have a message but only for a short period of time less than 10 minutes. Is that the same for everyone else.

You will have to ask someone more authoritive on the Subject like JSaunders. But I think it is anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes.
