Thumbs up blackberry OS upgrade and downgrade - 08-20-2007, 03:48 PM

Currently I have a sprint 8830, does it matter whether I installed the Blackberry OS from another CDMA blackberry OS or I can install another Blackberry OS from GSM provider? My ultimate goal is to have my Blackberry OS to read Chinese and at the same time I can still be able to use my phone. Any ideas?

Ask your carrier if they have the multilingual software installation files.
I'm pretty sure RIM releases english and multi for every release.

You may ask them about other chinese localization files as well to see whats available.

You cannot mix and match GSM and CDMA OS's. You can load any 8800 GSM OS on any GSM 8800 and you can load any 8830 OS on any 8830.
