Question 8830 keyboard trackball light adjustable? - 08-21-2007, 10:23 AM

I have had been searching hi and low. Maybe I overlooked application out there to change the keyboard and trackball light. I really would like to turn off the keyboard backlight or the trackball light. Is there a way I could do this? Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

The backlight should only come on when the ambient light sensor (located behind the LED indicator) senses a low light condition. If the trackball, keyboard light is on all the time, go to settings/screen-keyboard and set the 'automatic backlight' to on.
Does this help?

No but thanks for trying helping out. I guess there's no way to manipulate the light.

My guess is that when you say manipulate, you mean take total control over when the light comes on or, in this case turns off.
I have looked for a downloadable utility and couldn't find one, but I am certain that one won't be far away! Again, the built in utility works well, so I'm not sure why you would want to shut the light off when you most need it, but...
