Default Watching wmv file on 8800 - 08-21-2007, 11:07 AM

Hello,

I'm pretty new in this blackberry world. Right now I'm on the web with my blackberry and I have to open a WMV file hosted on a webpage.

When I open the file I always have an error message saying that it cant find a converter for the following type : video/x-ms-wmx

Anyone can help ? I just want to watch the content online, not download it on my blackberry

Thanks

If I understand correctly, you can't view video from the web. You will need to utilize your media player.

Actually the Media Player starts to play the video, and gives me the error message I mentionned in my first post.

In the specs on blackberry website, wmv is listed as supported format. Could it be possible that the 8800 model does not support streaming media ? I would like to download the clip and try it directly on the blackberry but another error message appears, saying that it is too big to be downloaded

The site probably refers to the fact that it'll play wmv files once you get them on the media card or a file small enough to play on the 'berry, but not on the media card. Are you trying to download it via your 'berry and that's why you're getting the message? Try it to your computer and transfer it over.
