Unhappy Blackberry Locking Up - 08-22-2007, 08:20 AM

Fellow members, I have been experiencing my 8800 locking up on me a couple of times this week thus far. I do not have much installed on my device (see below), and the issue always happens in the phone and/or address book application. Whenever I scroll through call logs or address book entries, it seems that I will scroll through (going down), and all of a sudden the device will freeze up, becoming non-responsive forcing me to pull the battery.

I switched from PPC for this (MULTIPLE SOFT RESETS PER DAY, HOUR FOR THAT MATTER ) and and hoping maybe it is some kind of conflict maybe. But I am weary, because I have had the same apps installed on my device for the last 2 months (since I swapped my 8700g for the 8800).

Has anyone else experienced similiar behavior?

Could be a corrupt address book entry maybe. The listing would be referenced in both phone log and address book lists. What was the last thing that changed right before this started to happen? New entries in address book? New app? OS update? Something changed that is causing this if it didn't happen initially with the same app base. Also, you might just want to wipe the phone log and see if that helps at all. Also, try to see if alt+rightshift+del will reset your phone when it's locked. It's quicker then a battery pull if it's just locked due to 100% cpu pegging. If it's hard locked it may not work.

The last thing I remember that changed was I was making phone calls to people. I had not added any new addresses. Although your thought on the phone log, maybe I had too many logs in the call or else something was bad in there.

In any event, it does not happen enough to piss my off too bad so I can live with it! Thanks
