Default New 8800 T-Mobile UK - 08-31-2007, 06:06 AM

Hi my 1st post on this forum. I'm a long time Blackberry user and thought I'd post this as it may be of some help. My contract was up yesterday with T-Mobile (UK) so I went into their local shop with the intention of closing my account. Well they offered me a brand new 8800 for nothing! and kept my existing (cheap) deal. All great apart from the fact I couldn't get the internet or BB Maps to work tried all and I mean all the suggestions posted here then called T-Mobile a very helpful guy updated my account to include BB mps etc and hey presto it all works I've not had to make any changes to APN's, Ports or anything very pleased.

Latest update at the moment Opera mini and Google maps don't connect at present

To fix the Google maps and such,

Go to Options, then Advanced, Then TCP, and change from general internet to internet.t-mobile.uk

Should work fine!

Also, how the T Mobile person fixed the problem, was to associate your phone number with your blackberry account.

If you get any other problems then log onto instantemail.t-mobile.co.uk and send service books.

Hope to help!

Do a hard reset.

The APN should read general.t-mobile.uk (no co)

I got my replacement BB yesterday, and I've got Opera/GM to work with a hard reset.

Just tried it after updating APN and a hard reset (Reckon you have to leave the battery out for a good 30 seconds or it doesn't seem to work) Everything now works many thanks appreciate your help
