Default Price of T-Mobile's 8800 - 08-31-2007, 11:26 PM

hey do you any of you know if the price for T-Mobile's 8880 price will go down anytime soon from the $350 2 yr contract price? I was going to get one on their website tonight but wanted to know if I should wait a little bit long...

I think it is the 8800 you are talking about. I just recieved one from T-Mobile, but I called and spoke to a CSR and paid the $350 but only got a one year contract.

I think they keep the prices up on the phone b/c nobody can beat the plans they offer. I sure the prices will go down with the release of the new WIFI phones.

I recently got one from a dealer for my girlfriend, we paid $150 no tax and got some free accessories as well. There are deals out there for it you just need to work for them.

geeze who got a deal! I didn't think it would be smart to buy this phone through a dealer so i Just ordered in on the website. Do you know his contact information? If so post it up and I'd rather buy it through this guy. I am also in NY

I tossed his card, but it was an ameritel (tmo exclusive dealer) at 86th and lex. I think his name was mike.

You should be able to get that kind of deal anywhere. Just goto a few dealers say "I want the 8800 on tmobile. I will get x plan with y data plan and z messaging bundle. What kind of price can you give me?" Get his card, with the deal in writing on it and tell him you are going to see if you can get anyone to beat it. Once you get to a point where none of the agents are going any lower you know you are getting a good deal.

i did that once with an exclusive dealer, didnt really read the contract. cause i was too excited to get the pearl and all. decided i wasnt using much of my blackberry internet. so i removed it from my plan through tmobile, next thing i knew, i got charged 350 from the exclusive dealer. stating it was in the contract i cant remove the internet service until my contract is up for two years.

That is too bad. But I can tell you that as a former t-mobile dealer, I did read the secondary contract and made sure we were willing to abide by it for the 180 days it is in effect.

Hopefully you learned your lesson and will now read all contracts you sign, 350 is bad but failing to read and understand a mortgage or car loan could be much worse.

I'm wondering the same thing... $350 seems like plenty with a 2yr contract. That's $200 more than the 7800 while the difference at ATT is only $100. I'd hate to buy the 8800 then have it come down $100 in a few weeks.

Thank you for the help and I am expecting my 8800 BB in the mail today. However I think I may send it back as I want to sign a 1 year contract and simply won't change the wording in my account but need to again send the phone I am getting back and cancel that and then have them send me a different 8800 for the 1 year contract.
