Exclamation Where Are All My Messages - 09-01-2007, 09:25 PM

8830:

After upgrading to 4.2.2.148 the other day to fix the whole phone call issue i noticed that all my messages are gone.

I did a manual backup of the messages /sms in my phone before I did the upgrade, and the desktop manager did the backup and restore as well. I noticed immediately that all my messages are missing. I have 1 VZW email account, 1 Pop 3, and my yahoo. All with separate icons for the boxes.

I can't even see my pop3 email from yesterday! What's going on here!? All my SMS messages from before are long gone ( they were after the upgrade ) and the phone is not retaining my mail.

I am very upset about this..

I even checked in the ipd archives and the messages are not even there so I can't get them back.

I have the option for keep email set to : forever.

Anyone experiencing this!??

What apps have you loaded? How many extra themes, pictures, ringtones, etc.?

Try this link:

How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

and reboot the device by removing the battery

Well, I only have Opera and Google maps loaded.

Now that I think about it, I did load all of the other themes onto the device when I upgraded the firmware, but I didn't realize they took up a lot of space?

Is this my problem?

It still doesn't explain why my messages in the backup file are missing because I added the themes while I actually upgraded the firmware on the device.

I just posted about removing themes in the edited .alx thread. you might look into that and then check the faq's. Also, remove the battery.

As far as where the emails went from the backup, I don't know.
