Default 8830 Questions - 09-02-2007, 06:39 PM

Hi Everyone,

I just bought the 8830 a few days ago and have a few questions. I have Verizon as my provider. How can I access my personalized igoogle home page. When I sign in it says that personal info is not available and offers me the option to set up a new home page. Will that change my page that I access from my home pc? Also, has anyone tried to access myspace from an 8830? No luck there either. And my last question - is there anyway to make the ringtones louder?

Thank you,
Toni

Some of those websites don't access properly with the BB Browser. You may have better luck with the Opera Mini broswer. You'll have to install it, however.

You'll need to setup your tcp settings afterward:

John,

Thank you for the tip. Unfortunately, I am a Verizon Wireless customer and opera mini is not available for VZ customers.

Thanks again,
Toni

I just gave it a try and it tells me that my phone model could not be detected. Where are you located? I am in Ohio, US.

Thank you,
Toni

I downloaded it to my computer and had no problems installing it. I did have to select 8800 since the 8830 wasn't on their model list.

Make you are using v4 beta 2 version and you should have no problem as mentioned above.

It will give you an error but you should still be able to download the high res version. That's what I did OTA and it works great.
