Default IT Polic for Yahoo! Messenger BES - 09-14-2007, 03:50 PM

Hello,

I have successfully downloaded YIM to the 8800; however, the instructions to modify the IT Policy on Enterprise Manager are not listed, nor do the *.pdf instructions download properly. Where would I make those modifications? Do I also have to reactivate the device?

This was the link source I used for the download:

You cannot modify the IT Policy unless you are a BES Administrator.

Is the application working for you?

Hello,

The BlackBerry Device keeps directing me to download the applet to make it work. I am a BES Administrator. I was looking at some of the IT Policies. I'm not sure which one would apply (if any) to YIM.

Thanks

When I first installed Yahoo IM, it wouldn't let me log in; it directed me back to the download page. I had previously used Yahoo IM on my old Blackberry, so I didn't think it was a policy issue. Finally, I uninstalled and re-installed the application and it worked fine. Perhaps I installed the app before I was registered on the BES, and it didn't like that, but reinstalling later worked for me.

The application doesn't even exist when I try deleting it. I even tried modifying the default IT Policy per instructions in *.pdf file. The user has Yahoo! Go installed also. Is that a conflict?

I keep getting the message saying "Please visit www.blackberry.com/go/yahoo to activate your handheld for Yahoo! Messenger."

I see NO place on the page to activate the application. What's up???
