Default 8800 browser problems - 09-14-2007, 04:26 PM

I'm really sorry for posting this guys and gals, cos I know you mention its been posted before, I just can't find the answer!

I've got a blackberry 8800, and it was on vodafone, I'm currently with the network 3, I have an internet package, but I don't know what a blackberry data package is, 3 don't do blackberrys! So am I stuck? Or can I get some settings from somewhere?

Cheers
Jordan

Guys I don't know what a data plan is... I'm in the UK so I suppose its different terms.

I'm with 3, and I have the x-series £5 per month data/internet access!

Will this allow me to use it?

Also when I try to connect, it says browser not configured, how do I configure it!

I have just this second phoned 3, and they say its not a 3 handset so they wont help me out!

There must be a way to configure this hand set to the 3 network!!!

You have to determine if you carrier has BlackBerry data plans. Call them up and ask as a general question. If they don't, then you won't be able to get the push e-mail, configure the browser, etc.

Well they don't sell blackberrys so i'm guessing they dont!

Think i've just waisted £200 on a blackberry!!

Jeremy,

Can they use Opera to access??? I don't know what the APN Settings would be for this carrier though.

I would guess they wouldn't have any APN settings, but I am not sure.

Jordan,

Search for Opera Mini here and download to your desktop. Use the Desktop Manager to load on the BB. You can then try accessing the Internet and see if it works..... a BIG maybe but you never know!

The link for the Opera Mini desktop download is: 'http://www.operamini.com/download/pc/'

No, you won't get push e-mails without a BlackBerry Data Plan.
