I recently purchased the 8830 for Sprint.
So far I'm loving it. Except for one thing, it can't display Korean characters.
I've searched the forum and saw that there are couple people complaining about this but with no clear answers to this issue.
I've googled as well, and found that you can pay monthly/yearly fee to display Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters using the METAmessage Language package. Which sound ridiculous. (Besides, that program's Korean rendering is fugly.)
Another thing that's weird is my friend who has an older model of blackberry (7xxx with Verizon) and his blackberry can display Korean characters.
So here's my question,
does anyone know how I can get Korean text to display on my 8830? (I don't need write support, although it'd be nice)
and if that's not possible
do you think in the future such support can be added by firmware upgrade or such? (I'm new to the blackberry universe so I don't know if RIM has done such a thing before or not.)
This is my first post here and I love the forum!
Thank you in advance.
