I cannot go beyond 10 feet from my BB without getting static and losing sound quality. Sometimes I can hold it away from me in my hand and get quality loss. I have searched these forums and the entire internet. Can anyone help?

I do have the house set up on wireless internet, but it happens everywhere.

I don't know if the 8830 has the same options as my 8700g, but what I did was set the bluetooth headset to be Trusted, and I disabled the Encryption. That seemed to help me at least (I was using a Motorola H700). Of course now that I can't seem to find my bluetooth headset I can't direct you on the exact steps. But I believe the controls were in the Bluetooth device configuration for the actual headset.

I agree, turning off the encryption does help out quite a bit.

I have the same problem. I hate the 665, I wish my chihuahua hadn't chewed my 510. I don't like it at all.
The noise cancellation sucks.

Disabling encription should help, although it may have more to do with the headset. I use a Jabra headset and I sometimes forget I left my phone on my desk. 30 feet isn't unusual and that is in a WiFi environment.
